Every article on this site is built on authoritative sources, in this order of preference:
- Primary official sources first: VA.gov, benefits.va.gov, the electronic Code of Federal Regulations (eCFR Title 38), cancer.gov, cdc.gov, and ssa.gov. When we state a rule, rate, or eligibility requirement, it should trace back to one of these.
- Reputable medical organizations for health background: the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, and the Mayo Clinic, among similar institutions.
- Multiple citations per article: each guide should rest on at least several authoritative citations, not a single page.
- What we never cite: law-firm marketing sites, settlement-mill content, or any source with a financial stake in a reader’s claim.
